Summary

Every Vote, Every Voice is a community-focused election initiative designed to help citizens become informed, prepared, confident and safer voters.

The project brings together accessible election education, polling-unit information, citizen reporting and personal safety tools through Kaci Help. It helps people understand how, where and when to vote, prepare for election day, locate their polling unit and remain connected with people they trust.

For citizens who may face uncertainty or safety concerns, the initiative provides additional tools such as Emergency, TravelSafe and Beeps, while PollWatch enables citizens to report incidents and situations around polling units. Together, these services create a connected support system that can help reduce the barriers that discourage people from participating in elections.

The goal is not simply to encourage people to vote, but to help them approach election day with better information, greater preparedness and stronger connections to their communities and loved ones.

How it works

The initiative begins with voter education, providing simple and accessible information that helps citizens understand the voting process and prepare for election day. Citizens can learn how, where and when to vote, while PollWatch can help them locate their polling unit.

On election day, citizens can remain connected through a combination of Kaci Help tools. PollWatch allows people to report incidents and situations around polling units, helping communities stay informed about what is happening in their area.

Safety and communication tools provide an additional layer of support. TravelSafe can help citizens share their journey and remain trackable while travelling, giving loved ones greater confidence about their whereabouts. Beepsprovide a quick way for voters to let trusted people know that they are safe or that they may need attention.

Where an urgent situation occurs, Emergency can be used to request immediate assistance when necessary.

By bringing these functions together, Every Vote, Every Voice creates a connected experience that supports citizens before, during and after their journey to participate in an election.

Why we chose it

A person should not be discouraged from voting simply because they are uninformed, unprepared, alone or afraid for their safety.

We chose this project because meaningful democratic participation depends on more than simply having the right to vote. Citizens also need access to understandable information, the ability to find their polling location, confidence about navigating election day and ways to remain connected when concerns arise.

Fear, uncertainty and lack of information can create significant barriers to participation. By combining voter education with practical tools for communication, reporting, navigation and emergency support, the project seeks to address some of these barriers in a practical and community-focused way.

The initiative also encourages peaceful, responsible and informed participation. Rather than treating citizens only as voters, it recognizes them as active participants in their communities who can stay informed, look out for one another and contribute useful information throughout election day.

The Location

Every Vote, Every Voice is designed for communities across Nigeria, supporting citizens wherever they are participating in the country’s elections.

The initiative connects citizens to the places where elections happen through polling-unit information and location tools, while creating communication links between voters, their families, communities and election-monitoring systems.

Its impact can extend from an individual voter trying to find their polling unit to a community seeking information about what is happening around them. PollWatch can provide a channel for reporting, while TravelSafe, Beeps and Emergency can help address the practical safety and communication challenges that may arise while citizens travel and participate.

By combining information, preparation, location, reporting, communication and safety, the project aims to make election participation more accessible and less intimidating for citizens across Nigeria.

Ultimately, the initiative is about creating an environment where people can make informed decisions, participate responsibly and feel that they do not have to face election day alone.

Fuel Impact Projects: Inform citizens. Connect communities. Support safer participation. Give every voice a chance to be heard.
